BOOKS

HealthLeaders Media:
Book editors at HealthLeaders Media manage the entire book process, from research to content development to production to promotion. In addition to substantive edits, occasional ghostwriting, and copyeditor and proofreader reviews, I also recruit and manage authors, many of whom are writing a book for the first time.

Hospital Campaigns that Work 2008 and 2009 editions (author, project manager).

HealthLeaders Media's first four-color book was much more graphic- and labor-intensive than our other books. It required a whole new level of cooperation and coordination between different departments, including layout, production, and editorial. Working together, we created a beautiful product and published it on time. And then we did it again the following year.

Case Studies in Niche Marketing: Real-world ways to reach key customers (editor).
I worked with eight different authors for this anthology-style book, each a specialist in the niche he or she wrote about and each with a distinctive personality, writing style, and definition of the word "deadline."

Facts on File:

Celtic Mythology A to Z (author, as Gienna Matson). One of the most difficult things I've ever done--and also one of the most satisfying. An illustrated guide to the characters, objects, and places that make up the mythic lore of the Celtic peoples with more than 450 entries providing readable definitions, explanations, and descriptions of the major stories, gods and goddesses, places, and beliefs.

Reviews: "While each title [in the A to Z series] is authored by a different person, these volumes are of consistent high quality. The clarity of wording, well-chosen bibliographic sources, and detailed indexes make these series titles excellent resources to accompany the many anthologies of myths and legends already in library collections."
- Ann G. Brouse, School Library Journal

"This title is an excellent introduction to the mythology of Celtic cultures and should be in most public and school libraries."
- Robin Hoelle, Booklist
